Professional Golfer
My Story
Michael Springer is a professional golfer from La Grange, Illinois, competing at the highest levels of national golf with his sights set on the DP World Tour.
His path has been unconventional by design. After high school, Michael made the deliberate decision to relocate to Windermere, Florida — alone — to pursue full-time elite golf development. Working at Isleworth Golf & Country Club while training daily alongside touring professionals, he built both his game and his character in one of the most competitive golf environments in the world. He currently trains under Tony Ziegler at The Golden Bear Club, where Ziegler has coached PGA and LPGA Tour professionals.
The results have followed. In 2025, Michael qualified for and competed in the Florida Amateur, the North & South Championship at Pinehurst, the Western Amateur at Skokie Country Club, and the Illinois Open at Kemper Lakes — earning his way into each field on the strength of his qualifying rounds. In 2026, he capped his amateur career with a T4 finish among 138 entrants at the Illinois State Amateur, then turned professional and made his pro debut at the Illinois Open — finishing T33 in a 156-player field that included the state's top touring professionals.
What defines Michael as a competitor is not just his ball-striking or his qualifying scores — it is the discipline and self-reliance he developed by building something from scratch, far from home, in an environment that demanded excellence every day. That foundation is what he brings to every tee.
Support My JourneyResults & Season
Michael's 2025 amateur season was defined by a consistent ability to perform when it mattered most. Playing qualifying rounds across five states, he earned his way into some of the most prestigious amateur events in the country — including the North & South Amateur at Pinehurst, the Western Amateur at Skokie Country Club, and the Illinois Open at Kemper Lakes. His best rounds came under qualifier pressure, highlighted by a 67 at Pinehurst No. 6 to earn his spot in the North & South, and back-to-back 69s to punch his ticket into the Western Amateur and Illinois Open. The 2025 schedule he built — and qualified for — reflects a player competing at the highest level of amateur golf, and one who is hungry to take the next step in 2026.
2026 marked Michael's transition from amateur to professional — closing out his amateur career this summer before turning pro ahead of DP World Tour Q-School this fall.

The Opportunity
This fall, Michael will pursue a tour card through Q-School — the qualifying pathway to either the PGA TOUR or DP World Tour. It is a rigorous multi-stage process — spanning Pre-Qualifying through Final Stage across multiple weeks and venues — and among the most demanding paths in professional golf. Earning a card through Q-School is the defining next step in a player’s professional career.
A T4 at the Illinois State Amateur closed out his amateur career, followed by a T33 in his professional debut at the Illinois Open — building the foundation for Q-School.
